Ashwini & Vishnu

Ashwini & Vishnu had their formal wedding ceremony in India, and just wanted a mehndhi & sangeet event and a reception so they could celebrate with friends and relatives locally!

Mehndi & Sangeet

We chose Elm Creek chalet for the beautiful scenery, and indoor/outdoor space - however it turned out to be a very chilly October weekend! We set up a cozy nook for henna next to the fireplace, with rugs, low tables, pillow seating, and cute and colorful pom pom garlands. The bride also wanted to do contribute something creative, so she made her own pom pom trees for the centerpieces! The colorful day was a perfect backdrop for the couple who dressed in simple, white attire. Lots of street foods and some dance instruction for Ashwini & Vishnu’s “non-dancer” crews added to the liveliness of this event.

Reception

For the reception, Ashwini especially was drawn to lotus and water elements. We went with a palette of teals, and pinks and purples.

Ashwini really wanted an instrumentalist for cocktail hour - DGS violin was a perfect addition and added to the beautiful ambiance.

“Dear Reena, …I really wanted to take a moment to reflect and express my sheer gratitude for who you are as a person and everything you did for our two day affair. Over the course of a year, you took a couple and their family, who had no clue of what it took to put a wedding together, and created one of the most beautiful and memorable events of their lives….You really listened to my opinion and were so respectful and accommodating to what my parents’ opinions were too….I am so glad you are in this world for so many couples who don’t fit the conventional mold for a “wedding”. Thanks again for everything! - Ashwini & Vishnu & Family
